My oldest sisters best friend Carol Decker is being nominated for Extreme Makeover Home Edition and I need your help to get them nominated!! Here is a synopsis of what has happened...
Two years ago Carol was pregnant with her second daughter. About to give birth there was a sudden spike in blood pressure in both Carol and unborn baby. An emergency c-section was performed. All went well during the procedure, until immediately after she developed life threatening hypotension from a septic pneumonia infection. Doctors administered medication, but it only made things worse. Carol's body reacted by blocking the blood flow to her legs, left arm, and eyes. Doctors had no choice but to amputate both her legs below the knee, and her left arm. Carol is also left blind. She spent months in the hospital and has endured multiple surgeries.

I can't even imagine what it would be like to suffer so much in such a short period of time, and even worse...to never be able to see what my daughter looked like. Carol is so strong and determined to make the best out of such a terrible situation. She has been fit for prosthetics and is very mobile on them. She is so positive and such an example.
So recently, her husband and her purchased an older house, a place to call their own, with plans of remodeling, and making the house easily accessible for Carol. However, due to many expensive hospital bills and the rough economy they are not able to afford to accomplish these things. Some friends have put together a facebook page to get her noticed, and are submitting an application to Extreme Makeover. If anyone is deserving of a gift like this.... it's them. Oh Ryanne, I love that you used this picture! I can't believe how little you were when we were in high school, seems like it was yesterday and now you are having a little girl all of your own. Love your blog, it makes me smile to see the beautiful young wife and mother you have become.
